Who is Androula?
Androula, also known as DJ Katta, is a musician and curator from Limassol, currently based in Nicosia. Moving fluidly between artistic creation and curation, her practices explore ecology, (eco)spirituality, and stories of community and ancestry through collective encounters that seek to connect, comfort, empower, and enchant. Working across performance and performance-making, composition and installation, and practices of communal listening and sounding, she draws influences from choral, contemporary classical, ambient, and experimental electronic music, with a particular interest in the voice. As DJ Katta, she performs rave sets and experimental sound collages within Cyprus’s queer and rave underground, and holds a monthly residency at Barking Cats Radio with the femme DJ collective ALYSIDEZ. She studied Philosophy (BA, MPhil) at University College London and from 2019 to 2025 served as Director of The Island Club, a non-profit exhibition space in Limassol, where she recently co-curated the Art Explora Festival.
Recent works include Requiem for Julie, the elephant, performed by the Amalgamation Choir and Mariliza Papadouri at the Rialto Theatre in Limassol; a live solo performance at Fengaros Reacts; the exhibition and public programme The Right to Home: Diaries of Limassol’s Gentrification; and Other Aspects of Reality, an audiovisual performances presented across Brazil, Italy, Greece, and Cyprus.
