Vassilis Philippou (b.1991) studied piano and composition at Royal Holloway University of London and continued with two masters in Trinity Laban Conservatoire and Koninklijk Conservatorium in The Hague. He completed two research studies on the relationship of sound & space and on the music of the Mediterranean as an influence to classical composition. His music expresses his relationship with humans and nature. In 2021 he released his first personal album entitled ’Sol Aurorae’ with nine compositions influenced by the music traditions of the eastern Mediterranean. In 2022 his second album ‘Colourful Emptiness' was released with compositions for piano, violin and guitar and later in 2023 he sang and played percussion in Odysseas Toumazou’s album ‘Origins’. In 2024 he starts a new collaboration as a percussionist with the band ‘Krúe’ and in 2026 he will be releasing a new album with his own compositions and also the debut album of the vocal group ‘Kalesma’ in which he sings.
